Zones of Regulation

Zones of Regulation

Implemented to develop the emotional literacy of all pupils, zones of regulation ensures teachers explicitly teach social and emotional skills- self-awareness, emotional literacy, motivation and social skills.

Positive engagement from all classes via the zones of regulation lessons means that all rooms depict zones of regulation visuals to support self-regulation and use language.

Social and emotional skills development is embedded in the PSHE/ Health and Wellbeing curriculum.

It is our understanding that essentially mental health is about how we think and feel about ourselves. Physical and emotional wellbeing are connected. Maintaining positive mental health supports the capacity to live a full and creative life and the flexibility to deal with its ups and downs.

It is our understanding that we owe it to our young people to develop resilience and ownership of their own mental health now and in the future.
