Reception

 Mathematics

Go on a shape hunt! What shapes can you find around the house? Can you describe the shapes?

Can you make 5? Find 5 objects and see how many different ways you can represent 5.
Understanding the World

Use your senses to explore changes outside? What seasonal changes do you notice? What changes can you see?
 Literacy

Share your library book with a family member. Can you create your own Drawing Club challenge? Draw a character from the story and add a code word for something magical to happen.
Reading

Please refer to the Home Learning sheets uploaded on Tapestry to see the most recent sounds we have been working on at school. From these you can practise:
- recognising and reading graphemes in isolation
- sounding out and blending words containing learned graphemes
- reading sentences containing practised words
- reading learned tricky words
Physical Development

While you are at home it is important to stay active and keep moving.  Below are some links to help you do just that.

To strengthen your fine motor, can you peg socks on a washing line? Can you pick up objects using a peg?
Mindfulness

Texture Bag

Put a selection of objects with different shapes and textures into a bag. Get the children to take turns putting their hands in, feeling one of the objects and describing it to the others (without looking at it) in as much detail as possible.
Expressive Art & Design

Use natural objects to create a pattern or picture.
